Does anybody know about an Open Source virtual audio driver for Win32 ? I don’t think that this feature request will get considered for the next fmod release, but I hope that people frequenting this forum might have an idea whether and where such a thing exists. Of course I have googled for that already extensively, but didn’t found anything.

No, a virtual driver represents a device, which does not exist, but which can be selected like a real device and behaves like a real device, expect of some latency. Like a real cable it can be used to make the output of one application the input of an other application (when the applications do not allow to share audio data, which is usually the case at commercial applicaitions).
TotalRecorder and VAC are examples of commercial virtual audio drivers.
