Here’s the scenario. I have a Windows CE application that receives MP3 data over a wireless LAN. The application will have several buffers of data, and I need to decode and play from these memory buffers at different times. The sizes of the files are too large to store on the device. If FSOUND_Stream_Create worked with MP3 files, not just raw pcm, my problem would be solved.

As a workaround, I have been thinking about storing about 3 seconds worth of frames as individual small files on the file system (~46k), load them into memory as as samples, and playing them…Is there any way to create a stream from a series of samples?
