Hello,

i regonized after i wrote some small Spectrum Visualization
that the Values the getSpectrum method returned are scaled by the Volume level (0-255). I think it’s not very handy to do my own scaling, may i can get values from a different stage of the Sound processing ? Can someone point me how to do this ? I think a call to DSP_setPriority() can avoid this, please correct me if iam wrong!

[b:x7lcpeje]Does nobody know a solution ? (brett) [/b:x7lcpeje]

I allready tested some values using FSOUND_DSP_SetPriority()
but it seem not to work with values like 101, 201,401,601,901

Ok, i would like to code some visual effect based on the spectrum. It would be handy that the spectrum is not scaled by the volume a user wants, so coding is a lot easier to detect bass
or treble.

ok,

what of those methods you talk about save most of the CPU power ?

OK, 44100 Muls per second, you allso talked about the normalized Spectrum how to do that ?
It should be save even more CPU power, the Spectrum is only updated each 20MS and only containing 512 values, 512*(1000/20) < 44100 muls per second.
