fmod doesnt need installing as such as its not a design time component, all you need to do is extract all of the files in the api to a directory of your choice, then in delphi goto tools, environment options, then slect the library tab and add click on the dots next to library path, put the fmod directory in the box at the bottom (path to fmod\api\delphi), click add then ok and fmod should work. a good place to start is the included examples which should get you familiar with fmods basic features

i believe this is because delphi 5 doesn’t define MSWINDOWS
add the following code the the top of the fmod.pas file
[code:inln5f1t]
{$IFDEF WIN32}
{$DEFINE MSWINDOWS}
{$ENDIF}
[/code:inln5f1t]
