“FSOUND_Record_StartSample” function doesn’t work at some computers.
I tested 4(A,B,C,D) computers. And 2 computer can capture sound by this function. And others can’t capture any sound. ( with no error.). Just silence is recorded.

Next is report from two computers. And others are same to each of them.

0 in result means “sound is captured correctly”.
X in result means “no sound is captured. with no error there are only silence.”

A:
Sound Setting in Sound Out Setting Capturing sound

result Control Panel, at Winamp, from

O SoundMax, Primary, Primary Sound Driver,
O SoundMax,
O SoundMax, Primary Sound Driver
O SoundMax,

B:
Sound Setting in Sound Out Setting Capturing sound

result Control Panel, at Winamp, from

X SoundMax, Primary, Primary Sound Driver,
X SoundMax,
X SoundMax, Primary Sound Driver
X SoundMax,

Is there anyway to make the function – “FSOUND_Record_StartSample” – works at “all computers”?

This is a way to make a computer deaf.

start => control panel => sounds and audio devices properties
=> Voice => Test Hardware button=> Next
=> wait until “Testing Sound Hardware” end
=> run record.exe. No sound is captured at any state.

This state cannot be recovered by rebooting or any change of sound device settings.

My computer( which can capture sound with record.exe) is perfectly disabled now.

  1. Under Sound Recording, click the Volume Button. (Make sure this is not the Volume button under Sound playback.) The Recording window appears:

… It was hard to find. It take me about 8 hours.

FMod Recording function works well in all computers.
