Hi, I’m trying to get fmod to stream an mp3 file down from the Internet. I can’t find much documentation on how to do it, only that I should just have to pass a URL instead of a filename, so I am trying:

stream := FSOUND_Stream_OpenFile(‘http://www2.cybernex.net/~bareford/Alexandra/Meet%20Virginia.mp3’, null, 0);

However I get back a “invalid file format” error when I do this, so I don’t know what I am doing wrong? I am using Delphi 5, and this worked perfectly in BASS, but I like fmod better and want to use it instead, but I need this to work.

Thanks for any help!

Okay, so I was doing it right then, and it’s just a bug in the latest version? In that case, would I be able to get a fix to this soon, because I am in a critical point in my project of deciding what sound library to go with. I like fmod, but I need this feature to work, so I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Dann

I think I am having a similar problem perhaps, I get the unknown file format error as well when I try to open a URL. If I open a local file all is fine.

When you said to rename your extension from mp3, what are you suggesting it be renamed to? I’ve tried a few different ones and the error is the same. This error happens in the stream demo as well.

Thanks for any tips.
