Hi,

I have this line of code in a game…

stream = FSOUND_Stream_OpenFile("./music/pipedreamsloop.mp3", FSOUND_LOOP_NORMAL | FSOUND_2D, 0);

It works fine, and when I play the stream a few seconds later (after the titles of the game have displayed, it plays fine):

streamchannel = FSOUND_Stream_Play(FSOUND_FREE, stream);

However, if Winamp is playing an mp3 file, or realplayer is playing an mp3 file or streaming something, my game will crash when it gets to this line (I comment out the line, the crash doesn’t happen). Curiously, this problem doesn’t happen if I’m streaming video or a radio station with the Quicktime player.

This is using fmod 3.4.

Is this a problem you are aware of, and if so, is there a workaround? I have sound sample files that I also load at game startup, but none of their loading causes a crash when winamp or realplayer are running.

I should be a bit clearer: the crash happens at the Stream_OpenFile line, not when the stream is played.
