I’m working on an app that will be used for dictation, and need to be able to record for possibly a few hours.

I’ve looked at the docs, and it appears that one of the parameters passed to record is a buffer which has been allocated by FSOUND_Sample_Alloc(). It appears that this buffer will contain the uncompressed audio. The obvious problem is that several hours of such audio will require storage the device doesn’t have. (IPaq w/ large SD card.)

Sooo.. two questions:
1) First, how to allocate from the SD card, or is this just available to the filesystem?
2) Any way to encode on the fly?
