what I do is a image to sound synthesis …
it seems that if I play this sound down there and try to change the volume no matter how, I will always get a breaking sound even if there is no image to play
imgSound=FSOUND_Sample_Load(FSOUND_FREE, gray->imageData,FSOUND_HW2D | FSOUND_LOADMEMORY | FSOUND_LOADRAW | FSOUND_8BITS | FSOUND_MONO | FSOUND_UNSIGNED, 0, (VIDEO_WIDTH-1)*(VIDEO_HEIGHT-1));
when I change to FSOUND_STEREO the break sound is gone, maybe interesting for you developer guys …
and another problem i am facing is, i playback sound in a thread and in the same time I want to analyze the data coming in from the dsp to make a VU meter for the microphone.
but as soon as a sound is played the data from the dsp is changed, which should be, when nothing is coming in it should be quiet.
I tried it with the recording sample as well it behaved similary.
i use linux and alsa because with oss it isn’t even possible to open the dsp for reading when fmod got inited. in alsa that is possible but the data is not correct, when I don’t play sounds it works fine.
any ideas ?
