actually, I am doing some testing on the new fmodex. Good job, I like the new C++ API! Probably, I found a bug in the linux version. Unfortunately, fmodex including all samples (playsound etc. multiplesoundcard) doesn’t work without root previleges. I tested fmod-3.74 and everything worked perfectly. I updated all my alsa-libs to the latest releases with no change. I assume there is a minor problem in fmodex. I am using SuSE 9.2 on a AMD64-Bit (32-bit compatibily envoironment).
I do have an additional question. I’d like to use multiple soundcards with fmodex, so I will have to instanciate with the new API multiple FMOD::System’s. Is there any smooth way to play one stream on multiple-soundcards? Actually, the last time I did something like that, I decoded the stream in memory and duplcated the memory stream before I played it. I think that’s still the case with the newer API. What do you think? Is there something like a memory decoding channel?
