I just found FMOD fe weeks ago and I’m making tries to find out if I could use it instead of the crappy sound engine I have now. My point is to have a good quality of sound processing within my 3D environment.
So here is my very fisrt question onthis forum:
Can I integrate FMOD to my game engine by adding FMOD.dll to my game library folder and redirect my sound processing to this dll ??
It certainly is possible. We used FMOD in Disney’s Extremely Goofy Skateboarding that was released in the US late last year.
If you already have a sound engine and have used its functions heavily throughout your code, then you should be able to make an interface unit that has the same functions as your old sound engine, but translates the calls into FMOD function calls.
