I’m having a little difficulty making fmod work under Linux. It wasn’t hard under Windows with Direct Sound, but something did stir up some problems with OSS.
Whenever I try to use fmod I get an error; “Error waiting for oss write ready”.
I’m using these lines when initializing:
{
FSOUND_SetOutput(FSOUND_OUTPUT_OSS);
FSOUND_SetDriver(0);
FSOUND_Init(44100, 32, FSOUND_INIT_USEDEFAULTMIDISYNTH);
}
My souncard is a Turtle Beach Montego with au8820 (more commonly known as Aureal Vortex) with the drivers found at [url:32osecgz]http://aureal.sourceforge.net/[/url:32osecgz].

So, my question is this: why doesn’t it work?? Not even with the supplied samples??

Thanks to anyone who may help!
