Iam building an editor for our sound stuff, and I have the sounds being positioned in the 3d world and all is working just fine. I just added the ability to change whether a sound uses HW or SW, and when the user changes the setting I Release the sound and recreate it with the correct flags.
Now everything works fine, still getting all the 3d effects, geom occlusion etc but the SW sounds play at a much higher volume. Is this to be expected? Should I globally swap sounds from HW to SW or is there again something stupid and obvious Iam missing?
