Hi folks!
I’m new to FMOD, just getting used to this forum, lurking through the many threads ‘n postings.
Now I wondered if it is somehow possible to play SID files with FMOD
( imagine ‘Blue Max’ with full surround sound support :) )
If it won’t work, what about FMOD Ex, will it support SID songs?
Or does anyone know of a SID->MOD converter? Couldn’t find one until now.

Thanks for your time

It is impossible to convert a sid to a mod due to the nature of modules.
Btw, you can easily add support for SID tune with fmod, search the forum for the addon used to add support for flac, ape … and use it as a basis + libsidplay2.

Thanks, I’ll definately have a look at it.
I already downloaded the source for libsidplay2, but failed to compile it. I’m not used to C++…

By the way, I know that mods are sample based while SIDs merely contain functions that create sample shapes (if I’m not misinformed)
I thought of something like rendering the different presets to samples while converting the notation to tracker patterns.

I found a thread about using winamp input plugins with fmod.
Don’t know if you meant that, but that should work as well, since there are SID plugins for winamp.
