Hi,

I recently programmed sound effects for a personal flight simulator project. These are outputted to the first lineout of a soundblaster audigy.

The next thing that i want to do, is to generate morse signals (sound) that need to be heard in a headset only. Therefore, i’m wondering if it is possible to have my enginesounds outputed on the lineout1, and the morsesounds outputted to the lineout2 ?

If that’s not possible, i probably need to install a second soundcard ??

Regards,
Wim

the audigy cards dont have line outs, they have 3 speaker outs which can also be used as line outs, what you can do is set the audigy to 4 speaker mode and put one set of sounds on the front speakers and one set on the rear speakers

Yes, that’s the basic idea… the problem is, i dont know how to do this in fmod. I can’t find a function or parameter that let’s me select ‘front’ or “rear” speakers.

The only idea that comes to mind, is using the 3d listeners, and put the normal sounds extremely forward, and the morsesounds extremely in the back. (But i was hoping for a more elegant solution)

nope i think that is the only way to do it. i think fmod 4 may let you play sounds on specific speakers but i cant remember
