Hi,
I noticed this strange behaviour while debugging my code, then tried the “playstream” example and found out it is there too.

After opening a stream for playing (it doesn’t matter what type of audio file it is) the cpu usage goes near 100%, and stays there even once the sound has been stopped and successfully released. My machine has 2 processors (G5, 2 GHz), and it appears to have one of them at full load and the other one around 30%, varying quite randomly. You can tell it is not a matter of meter (it is the very handy menuMeters, by the way) because the fans start spinning quite loudly). The getCPUUsage reports more or less 1% for total FMOD cpu, so what is happening?

Of course quitting the prog restores immediately the cpu to 0%.

This happens with 4.00.32 and 4.00.33

ciao
Davide

Hi, thanks for reporting this.

There seems to be some threading issues in the mac build. This should be fixed in the next release.

edit: this mac threads issue is annoying 😕
