Hi,

I use fmod in my project since a while, but a few months ago i discovered that it doesn’t work anymore… the problem is not only that you wont hear any fmod output but any system sound output wont work from fmod init till fmod close.

I also use the fmod recording capabilities and tried to record anyway to test out if there is something recorded when there is no sound output but recording also fails.

I now checked out some fmod demos, too but the same problem remains.

The only way it works is trough ASIO output.

I changed my Soundcard to a Soundblaster Audigy 4 so i think the problem remains there. But i haven’t found any solutions yet. Other Sound programs dont seem to have any problems with sound output.

My System:
Windows 2000 on SP3
Pentium 4 2,6GhZ
Soundblaster Audigy 4

Thanks in advance for any help
George

Have you tried opening DxDiag and lowering the sound acceleration slider all the way to the left?

Hi,

thank you very much, lowering the acceleration will solve the problem. the previous setting was maximum acceleration. I now have standard acceleration and the problem isn’t there anymore.

@brett
sorry, it really wasn’t ment as a charge. i just sayed that fmod is the only program where i get this error, because i thought that will maybe help you in lower the range of possible solutions. fmod is really a great peace of software and we all have to thank you that you make it available for non profit software for free. thank you.
