Hello,

I know this has been asked for numerous around this forum, but I’d like to find out what it would take to have the package support streaming.

My company is developing a product that would greatly benefit from this feature (actually, it has to have it) and I would really like to incorporate FMOD.

I am willing to pay what is required for the licence as well as whatever development charges are necessary.

Please reply or email me at the email I’ve registered with to discuss this further. We are very serious about purchasing a licence, and a prompt response would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps it would benefit the FMOD CE community as a whole if we can pay for the costs required for your work to do these things.

Best regards,
-C Clough

You need to over-ride the fmod file system (by passing pointers to callback funtions for read, write, seek commands etc). Then you can shove in mp3 frame data from a custom file (a .wad for instance), or from a TCP/IP / UDP multicast stream which you code yourself. In WinCE 4.2 this was a bit of a pain because the socket code was terrible, but his has probably improved in WinCE 5.0.

I did this sometime ago for an MIT / MediaLabEurope project:
