When play a IT file with 4.01.06 version, the audio system crash (block of audio, the block is random during the playback) and block of entire system (reboot necessary)
I have play only a-fire.it (the fire of sunset, IT song of modarchive.com)
With 4.01.05 work correctly

my specs are:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2000+
(istructions supported: x86, MMX, 3DNow!, SSE)
Motherboard: DFI AD70-SC with last update BIOS sorfware

BIOS : Adward Modular BIOS v6.00PG)

I have tested other .IT files:
All plays fine with FMOD Ex 4.01.05 and 4.01.06 with my engine, only a-fire.it crash my system with 4.01.06, with 4.01.05 plays fine
I could send you al versions off DLL that use FMOD Ex ver 4.01.05 and 4.01.06 with example for you test if you have interest of test it
I don’t know the problem that occur with 4.01.06 😕
I have tested normal prerelease .07
Play a-fire.it with loop for 40 minutes continuosly at:
5 times at 44100.0 frequency (20 minutes total)
3 times at 53402.x frequency (10 minutes total)
2 times at 36175.x frequency (10 minutes total)
Plays fine (don’t crash)
Here’s a download link for a-fire.it, since modarchive’s search function is worthless:
http://www.modarchive.com/cgi-bin/downl … /a-fire.it
Edit: Downloaded it and started testing it out – while I can get Winamp to play this, it regularly crashes either upon stopping the song or when I attempt to load it. Going to see how FMod Ex and Modplug Tracker behave on here.
Edit #2: Running here on my machine, both Modplug Tracker and FMod Ex play the song fine (though it seems like MPT sounds slightly better, quality-wise)… no crashes.
Is there a specific spot where it crashes? Are you using any particularly odd settings that might be a part of the problem (HARDWARE vs SOFTWARE, 3D vs 2D, etc?)
Also, are you able to reproduce this on other systems? My guess is you might be suffering from the crash bug people have been reporting with 6, since it works in 5.
Edit #3: I’ve had MPT and FMod Ex playing the song in sync for a few minutes now and I can’t really notice any problems at all (other than FMod Ex sounding slightly different) – timing, volume, etc are all fine.
