Hi guys,
When/If the my application ever crashes, I want to be able (from a shell loop) to just restart it. The problem with that is that I have NO sounds after I restart the app without properly shutting down the sound system.

Is there any way I could do it from a utility?

Thanks,
JF

This is a custom kernel built on top of busybox. The sound device I’m using is alsa and it’s the only one that would work with the board I have.

What other method could I use to try to figure out a fix for it?

Thanks,
JF

I’m sure it’s not the answer you would like but it wasn’t doing that w/ SDL_mixer.

Since SDL_mixer was working fine, and I’m getting some random problem w/ FMOD, I’m thinking this is device related. Is there a way that I could at least run FMOD in debug mode to try to figure out why it’s not working?

Or if someone knows the sound device file system, maybe direct me in a couple of steps I could take to figure out this bizarre issue? I’m pretty sure it’s my fault, in the way I created my devices, but I’m at lost as to how to work around this problem (short of rebooting). Because the FMOD is initializing w/out errors, the sound is just not playing.

Thanks,
JF
