Hi,

I am trying to access a webradio. I simply use the netstream sample which works ok for simple IP adresses. But I also want to access other streams, but they fail. A sample is:

http://lsd.newmedia.tiscali-business.co … e&media=ms

Now, the problem is, that I get the following error from netstream:

FMOD error! (23) Unsupported file or audio format.
‘content’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
‘media’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

How can this be fixed ?

[code:1ypv8cy6]
‘content’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
‘media’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
[/code:1ypv8cy6]

These errors have nothing to do with fmod, they are just errors returned from the shell. It is because the shell thinks your are running “content” and “media” as background programs, due to the “&”.

Try using ‘\&’ instead of ‘&’ or try putting the whole URL in quotation marks.

Hi,

thanks for reply. In generall it works, but now netstream crashes. I debugged it and the result is, that

result = system->createSound(argv[1], FMOD_HARDWARE | FMOD_2D | FMOD_IGNORETAGS | FMOD_CREATESTREAM | FMOD_NONBLOCKING, 0, &sound);

works OK, but sound is NULL. It crashes in:

result = system->playSound(FMOD_CHANNEL_FREE, sound, false, &channel);

Trying another stream (simple IP:Port) it works, sound is not NULL.

Any further solutions on this ?

Hi,

I am using the original netstream sample shipped with the API.

You are right, at first sound is not NULL and the result of createSounde is FMOD_OK. But sound becomes NULL somehow in the Main Loop and the application crashes in playSound!

The only thing I modified is that I included a code of line to set the proxy. Except for that I didn’t change a thing.

I checked the URL with the old API and the old netstream sample from 3.74. The application does not crash, but it also cannot connect.

Hi,

I debugged it. The MainLoop is called five times and sound is OK.
Now, I step on, the system->playSound(…) routine is called and sound is NULL.
