When using filters in events like lowpass, it lowpass, highpass, paramEQ it works fine in FMOD Designer, but not in my own system (ie. the filter is not applied). On the other hand filters like pitch, echo or reverb works fine.
I am just setting the system up as FMOD_INIT_NORMAL and not doing anything special in the setup and the problem applies to both the Audigy 2 and the onboard sound.

Forgot about testing in event player :)
It’s the same problem in the event player. Actually it sounds like the filter is working but with a different cutoff frequency interpretation. The curve is almost down at zero in the designer (and sounds like 50hz or so), but it’s more like 5-10khz when playing in the event player.

Hi Henrik,

Does the example project that ships with FMOD Designer show the same problem in FMOD Event Player i.e. wrong filter values? If not, could you send a small project that reproduces the problem to support@fmod.org.

Cheers,

hmm.. looks like it has something todo with the wavebanks (which also makes sense regarding the designer/player differences)

Lowpass filter event in example works, just like a fresh project with the right sample. But that particular sample didn’t work in that particular project.

After moving the particular sound def to a different wave bank (“effects” containing mono 3d sounds instead of “music” containing stereo 2d) it actually works. If it’s the only one in “music” it works too, just like when I move some mono sound down there instead of the stereo music. So, my minimum nonworking configuration for a soundbank (idapcm/stream) is:
.ogg, stereo, use: HW 2D
.ogg, mono, use: HW 3D (<- filter not working correctly on this one).

ahh ok, so it’s only when a bank is streaming that mono samples will be converted to stereo?
