I have a strange problem with memory… when I play new sounds with FMOD, task manager shows total memory usage is growing all the time. At first it is something like 256000K / 630000K, but it is slowly going up all the time when sounds are started. Task manager shows that my program is not growing it’s size. So when I shut down program and memory is freed, I notice that system memory usage is a somewhat higher than before I started the program.

After a while I get resource errors and sounds stop to play, even other applications cannot get enough memory and I must reboot. I use system->close() and system->release() functions, so everything should be ok. It is strange that my application is not growing memory usage, but the total memory usage is…

Actually thats seems to happen only when I use hardware-3d sounds. Software-3d works without memory loss. Weird… Maybe that is someway related to the old SB PCI128 soundcard which I have.

It’s probably a bug in your drivers. Try adjusting the hardware acceleration slider in DxDiag for your sound card.
