I noticed in the documentation that looping of WMA streams is not possible by setting the FSOUND_LOOP_NORMAL flag, and that WMA doesn’t support callbacks, so is there any kludge way that I can loop a WMA stream?

Originally I was using an MP3 file as my background track, but I’d prefer not to pay the god-awful $2500 license fee to use MP3 in my game…

And what about ogg? That is being decoded by fmod so you can use loops and callbacks.
And I think it’s free to use.

Yeah – I finally went with Ogg. At first, I had tried it and didn’t like the sound quality – but I had encoded with an RC2 encoder. Went on to try WMA, and then came across the RC3 Ogg encoders, and the quality is much better.
