The header output of designer generates invalid C code for example:
const int EVENTGROUP_WEAPONS = 0;
const int EVENTGROUP_PISTOL = 0;
const int EVENT_COCK = 0;
const int EVENT_FIRE = 1;
const int EVENTGROUP_RIFLE = 1;
const int EVENT_FIRE = 0;
The symbol EVENT_FIRE is defined twice.
It is relativly obvious that this scheme of output won’t work for event systems that have events of the same name. It seems to me that most serious event systems will have this property. Our engine does not use strings at runtime so this sort of output is very important to us.
There is a fundamental problem here since the defined number can have a different value per group. There is a many to many relationship between names and indices.
Has anyone used this feature successfuly in a non trivial way?
