Is it possible to trigger and control custom sound generation (like in example usercreatedsound) via a designer created event?

We have a procedural system that I would like to give sound designers control over via Designer (volumes etc) and as well trigger and control via the same interface game codewise.

This means the programmer has to set the volume of the stream than.

Or provide a second interface to sound mix settings.

I understand that it is not currently doable but i do like the idea of your second suggestion.

The programmer names his custom stream.

In Designer custom streams just shows up as a special type of sound definition that can be added and they have a property where the designer can specify the name.

At runtime the name specified in designer is used to find the custom stream and the Designer specified parameters can be applied to it during mixdown.

Could they not if they were using the network connection system? At least updating parameters relativly quickly should be possible.

Working remotely will be the standard way for our guys.

I guess there is no way to make a synthesizer using your effect plugin architecture? Seems like little difference except no input given.

So a horrible idea is making a dsp plugin that is a synthesizer and just overwrites the audio data sent to it. Drop it into the event editor and tada!

not so elegant but would that work?
