I am using 3D sound in a Win32 game, and the sound changes direction correctly (to the left, and to the right). However, when I rotate the listener, the sound volume is higher when the listener’s back is to the sound source, than when the listener is facing the sound source. Any ideas why this would be the behavior?

We get the same result on various systems, through speakers or through headphones.
