After upgrading my application to FMod 3.5, I experience a 5-15 second pause (usually about 10 seconds long) during which my app stops responding, the cpu sits at 0%, and FMod apparently does nothing. After that pause, it initializes and everything works fine.

How can I fix this?

Nevermind, fixed it.
I’m used to having to put dirty hacks into my app by now, it’s grown into a very large VB beast. Makes me want to quit prototyping and start writing the final C++, but I need to finish it first. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I stuck the FSound_Init call into a seperate thread by using a VB Timer control to initiate the call, and it seems to work now.

I’ll let you know if I have any other problems… ๐Ÿ˜‰

whispers 96khz support… please?

I’m looking forward to buying a license for FMod once my app is done. :smile:

Oops, nope, it’s back, same problem as before. :smile: Good luck fixing it, most of my problems take days to figure out ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have u tried stepping through your code line by line to find out what call it is freezing up on, ie are you 100% sure its the init call to fmod, could u post your line here so we coudl see what your doing? I have had no problems myself nor have any of my beta testers with init sequences.

++Cire.
