I ran into a crash today when building a Designer project. I currently have a MIDI file in a wavebank by itself, and when I build the project with that wavebank, Designer seems to crash. If I build the rest of the wavebanks without the one with the MIDI file in it, then everything is fine.
Any thoughts on this? Possibly an issue with Type 0 v. Type 1 MIDI files?
Thanks in advance!
So the “Stream from Disk” option still doesn’t make Designer happy. Perhaps I’ll just convert the midi playback to wave output…
But if anyone has experienced similar problems with midis or have an idea of why this might happen, I’d appreciate it if you could share!
Does FMOD Designer crash or just hang? It could look like a hang if it takes a long time to decode the midi. Does it eventually finish building if you leave it for a long time? If not could you email the midi to me at firstname.lastname@example.org?
During the building process, when the MIDI file is encountered, the infamous windows Error dialog pops up ("fmod_designer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". I could send you the assembly if you want. The midi file is the default windows "flourish.mid" in the Windows/media directory (just for test).
The FMOD output shows this during the hangup:
Building project W:/FMOD/FMOD Designer/test\test.fev
Retrieving Waveform Info:...
FEV file written OK
Building W:FMOD/FMOD Designer/test\test_bank00.fsb. Format = PCM (1:1)
Info: Build Mode = FSBANK_BUILDMODE_SINGLE
That’s all I’ve got so far…
