ldconfig ignores symlinks so the libfmodex.so and libfmodexp.so links in /usr/local/lib are not processed on install. When a program compiled to use fmodex or fmodexp runs, it can’t find the required libraries.

Make sure that your /usr/local/lib directory is in your [url=http://www.visi.com/~barr/ldpath.html:1vdzeyu2]LD_LIBRARY_PATH[/url:1vdzeyu2].
You can also create a symbolic link from there to /usr/lib/libfmodex.so.
Finally, you can also add /usr/local/lib in your makefile using the -L macro.
