Hi.

I am programming a Java-application for WindowsCE and want to make use of FMOD through JNI. I successfully implemented a small DLL, which records some audio-data over the microphone of the PPC and plays it directly afterwards. I was able to call that DLL through Java, too.

But now I have some problem: I want to play some mp3-files from a webserver. So I thought I could make something like

[code:k1qih3is]handle = FSOUND_Stream_Open("http://server/path/test.mp3", FSOUND_STREAM_NET, 0, 0);
channel = FSOUND_Stream_Play(FSOUND_FREE, handle);[/code:k1qih3is]
But that’s not successful. I read in the manual, that streaming over http is not possible with Windows CE. Is that true?

Does anyone have some hints, how I can solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Damn. 😉 I was hoping though…. so I have to redesign some parts of my program. :(

Another question regarding this topic…. when it’s not possible to use the streaming-abilities of FMOD, would it be possible to implement a tiny own version of streaming?

I thought of downloading some audio-data into a file and playing that file, while letting another thread adding the rest of the audio-data. Central point: Is it possible to write into an audio-file that is being played?

Hi Brett,
What format does the FSOUND_Stream_Create expect the stream to be in? pcm? wav?
