I just converted all my wav files to ogg and I noticed something.
The amount of memory of the game didn’t change..
This I thought was odd until I start thinking what you do when playing ogg files.

When you load a ogg file from a file do you load convert it to a wav file internally or is fmod really playing a ogg file?

thanks
You’re probably using FSOUND_Sample_Load instead of FSOUND_Stream_Open, one decompresses, one doesnt.[/quote:14uyurww]

Yep I’m using "FSOUND_Sample_Load" so this one decompresses the files.
Nice to know thanks.

I have another question is there a way to save the converted files after they have been loaded?
You can use FSOUND_Sample_Lock / FSOUND_Sample_Unlock to access the raw data inside a sample. You can also use the code in the record example there is a ‘savetowav’ function.[/quote:3azgvbpv]

Sorry but where can I get the examples from?
As that sounds like what I’m looking for!
