Hello Community!
I’m using delphi 6 and my application (game) with fmod v3.75 works very well.
now i’m writing some procedures that tell the game what to do if some files in the game directory are missing. for example ‘gfx.bmp’. int this case the game will popup a message with ‘gfx.bmp missing’. but the game runs nevertheless.
BUT if the fmod.dll is missing then my game doesnt even start! it shows a windows based error message and aftewards it closes itsself.
i’ve written a procedure (if not fileexist ‘fmod.dll’ then showmessage’fmod.dll missing’ and disable sound). it doesnt work, the windows based errormessage appears… and my game closes.
my question: is there a way to get my game startet without fmod.dll but with the fmod.pas… implemented? i only want the game for this case to disable the sound.
thanks theshu

Hi,

I did it in my game with fmod ex and C++, but the method is the same with delphi. you have to link the dll dynamically, which means you’ll have to use LoadLibrary and GetProcAddress functions to get access to the dll.
