Seeing this:

[color=yellow:2ce4znu3]Multi-channel sound support

Multi-channel wavs, oggs and FSB files are supported for 5.1 music for example.[/color:2ce4znu3]

in the features page, I was wondering if there is more specific information available about streaming a 5.1 wav (or creating one for that matter – would that be an ac3 file?)… as well as any info about how you configure the output appropriately in the designer tool… Thanks for any info…

we don’t really have info on making 5.1 wav files, but you can do so in certain programs like Adobe Audition. You simply just import that wav into fmod designer. An event will default speaker levels to front left/front right, so you may want to raise the other speaker levels up to make the rears etc audible.

Is there any sort of protocol as to how the wav file is put together from the 6 individual component waves?

The SMPTE allocation is: L R C Lfe Ls Rs
The DTS allocation is: L R Ls Rs C Lfe
The Film allocation is: L R C Lfe Ls Rs

There should be meta data in the file which describes what the channel allocation is in the file. Make sure everything is labeled.
