Currently I can only support sounds loaded as FMOD_3D, so to emulate a 2D sound, I’m using the following code:

playSound(…&channel…); //sound is started paused

channel->setMode(FMOD_3D_HEADRELATIVE);

channel->set3Dspread(180.f);

channel->setPause(false);

with its position set to 0,0,0.

Sadly, the sound always sounds mono. I’ve tried moving the sound slightly in front of the camera, but it doesn’t change.

Am I missing something, or just approaching this the wrong way?

did you load the sound as FMOD_SOFTWARE?
