A non-locked mp3 file is being recorded with another program on the local machine for x seconds and the recording goes ahead.
At this moment I start playing this file with FSOUND_Stream_Open and FSOUND_Stream_Play. I will hear it playing for x seconds, and then the playing will stop. But the recording didn’t stop.
What I need is to get it as Windows Media Player does: After x seconds it continues to play with no interruption (on WMP the progress cursor remains stopped at the end position but yet playing).

maybe override fmod’s file callbacks. fmod calculates the size when it opens it, if you get an ftell callback maybe make the value return a very large number instead of the real size.

Thanks Brett,
with a ftell callback I will get the current position, right? What to do with this?
I must tell FMOD 3.75 not to stop when the calculated size is reached, or to substitute the calculated size by a very large number. How to make this?

sorry, i meant only after you get a seek callback with SEEK_END, because that is when fmod tries to get the size.

From then on just return the normal position, but I dont think fmod uses that anyway from then on.

Hi Brett,
I still need to listen in real time to a non-locked mp3 file while it is being recorded by another program. And I intend to use FMOD 3.75.
Do you know someone who can help me?
I will pay for it!
