Hi, I used Visual c++ to make a sample console application with FMOD. Now I to make it work on computers without fmod SDK installed. I tried to copy the program executable and the fmodex.dll file in the same folder on a computer and the application does not run.
What else have I to do?

Nothing. If there is an error you should find out what it is by doing some error checking.

Should normaly work :)
Do you get any error message, or what is the actual problem (stuttering, no sound, …)
(You may have to activate program error messages, or your program may crash and you’ll never get any error message)
Maybe soundcard / output mode / buffer … settings do not work on that computer;
Try running the examples provided with fmodapi404??.exe (examples/bin)

This could be because of your runtime library.
If you’ve got your project set to use the runtime library as a DLL, you’ll either have to distribute that with your program, or set it to link statically.
The settings are under C/C++->Code Generation->Runtime Library.

To have your program be standalone, you’ll want to set it to either Multi-threded Debug (/MTd) (for the debug configuration) or Multi-threaded (/MT) (for the release configuration).

Or, as I said, you could also include the standard library DLL, I believe it’s msvcrtxx.dll (where xx is the version, usually either 70, 71, or 80).
