Apologies if you have heard these before…I trawled the forums but did not see anything on them, or find much on midi in the docs.
Is it possible to change the tempo of the midi playback on the fly?
Is it possible to feed midi input [notes, cc’s etc to specific channels] into fmod in realtime, a la using midiyoke and a sequencer or vsti?
I’m guessing not, that fmod is structured for playback of set midi files/sequences only, with the ability to set a custom dls only.
I guess you could keep changing the file I suppose, depending on the overheads.
It would be cool if FMOD had an inbuilt midiyoke or similar functionality.
ps: oki doki, I guess this one, even though it’s old, answers my q http://188.8.131.52/forum/viewtopic.php … light=midi

I know you can adjust the frequency of a MIDI stream while playing it back, and use DSPs to pitch shift the playback as well to approximate changing tempo, but as far as dynamic input goes the only thing I can think of would be using a custom filesystem to feed in midi data. But I imagine FMod might be loading the whole MIDI in at once, in which case you’re stuck.
Another option would be to try and rig something up using the realtime stitching system.

It’s a pity FMOD does not allow you to do this.
http://www.polyhedric.com/software/vssdk/index.html and Miles Sound System have this capability as far as I’m aware.
Maybe I can hack something up with a file buffer and callbacks…
