Hi,
we are currently using Fmod, but are considering to upgrade to FmodEX so that we can take advantage of HTTP streaming for WMA, ASF, and hopefully ASX. Now I understand that you might not supprt MMS, but from your documentation (and other threads on this forum), I am led to believe that HTTP streaming is working for ASF container files. However, when I attempt to stream a file from on of our servers (HTTP) using the netstream program you provide, it doesn’t work (I get back unknown codec error or something). Now playing that file back from local drive works perfectly. Ogg Vorbis audio http streaming works great too. So I just don’t understand why ASF/WMA streaming from the internet is not working. For your reference, I’m trying to stream from here [url:33i2rqld]http://www.modelglue.com/eviltwin/test.wma[/url:33i2rqld]. It even works in VLC client and WMP. Once again, I’m using the netstream program provided with fmodex as a test to launch this website, but with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and help us in our decision making process to upgrade or not.

Just a quick look at this shows that because the file has some extra information in it i think, the ASF codec is trying to seek, and FMOD doesnt allow seeking in net streams.
We can probably fix this, but it has to take low priority at the moment, we’re quite busy on xbox360 and ps3 stuff right now. I’ll look at fixing it for 4.05
