I have two events (eventA and eventB). I find that if I start eventA then start eventB before eventA has finished, eventB preempts eventA (eventA immediately stops and eventB is heard). How can eventB detect if another event is already playing and wait for the other event to stop?

Is that all you have playing? Are you saying you can only hear 1 event at a time?
They will play simultaneously, unless you havent specified enough voices in the init function.
