If I want to call ChannelGroup::setVolume() on the master channel group, it works as expected.

If I create a new channel group (just creating it — not assigning any channels to it), setVolume on the master ceases to change the volume. Is this a known bug?

By the way, this is with FMOD Ex 4.04.24.

Here is how I create the new channel group:

// persistant class
FMOD::ChannelGroup* mChanGrp;

// init code
FMOD_RESULT res;
res = mFmodSystem->createChannelGroup( NULL, &mChanGrp );
ASSERT( res == FMOD_OK );

Again, I’m not actually using it, just creating it. The creation seems to be making the master channel group setVolume() ineffective. All calls return FMOD_OK.

Any ideas?

Channels are never members of multiple channel groups; moving a channel to a custom group removes it from the master group. I believe this is by design.

I’m not sure why just creating the new group would cause a problem, though.

Not sure what I was doing wrong, but things are working now. Sometimes it just takes some sleep 😉

Thanks for your time,
