Hi,

been browsing and can’t find much info on how to go about the Engine Designer. I can see pretty much from the example project but still a given workpath would be nice, instead of guessing my way around.

Edit – just found a thread where Brett is explaining how you center the sound instance over it’s center rpm. Checking it out now… no starting a parameter strip on anything but 0? Sound instance settings seems to assume this is always the case.

  1. Create rpm/load parameters.
  2. Set rpm parameter range to whatever makes sense for your engine. (Can start at non-zero value)
  3. Create load layers.
  4. Place your engine sounds. Enable "Autopitch" and set "Autopitch reference" to the rpm at which the sound was recorded.
  5. Adjust crossfades.
  6. Create/adjust volume envelopes in load layers.
  7. Done.

Thanks!

Pretty neat with the autopitch. :-)

But having rpm’s set to start at anything but 0 seems faulty. The rpm slider starts at 0 rpm either way, and in the sound instance properties you get faulty lengths when starting at anything but 0.

Cheers!
