Hi,

I’m new to fmod and I’m sorry if this is already posted in the newsgroup (can’t find it).

I’d like to play a sequence of sounds in a certain way and I don’t know yet what is the best way with fmod. Basically the sound (imagine a blower sound) is cut in sevral pieces, and the sound can be played corresponding to 2 levels: high (louder) or low (quieter).

The sound samples are (in a typical sequence):

off_to_low (played when the power is applied)
low_loop (played continuously as long as the blower is in LOW mode)
low_to_high (played when the selector goes to HIGH mode)
high_loop (played continusouly as long as the blower is in HIGH mode)
high_to_low (played when the selector goes back to LOW mode)
low_loop

etc….

how the best I can use fmod to play the sound loops from variable "selector mode" and then play the "ramp up or down" sounds during a mode change, gapless?

Thanks in advance,

John

You might be able to use FMOD Designer to design an event for that. Check out the car engine in the examples project.

Thanks Andrew,

I’ve thought about the Designed, however, how to do it "manually" (i.e. in my own program)? I’ve seen the example that play a music in sequencing samples. Could this apply?

Thanks in advance.

John
