Since around version .33 I have been getting "file not found" errors back from EventSystem::load on 360, though not on PC.

On 360 I have always prefixed the path name with game:\ and forced all slashes to backslashes. I just noticed the debug output from fmod appears to think that there is a forward slash in the path name.

After calling setMediaPath with game:\Audio and then trying to load a file called global.fev I get this:
FMOD: EventSystemI::load : filename -2113757540
FMOD: EventSystemI::load : fullpath = game:[b:3re7960h]/[/b:3re7960h]Audio\global.fev

Is that slash getting converted by fmod at some stage? I have never been able to load on 360 if there are any forward slashes in the pathname.

Well this seems to be working on version .37 so I guess the problem is fixed.

yes there was a slash issue that is resolved in v37, we’ll be doing an official release today in a few hours.
