Lengthy post inbound…

Are there plans of updating the Designer User Manual? It looks like it hasn’t been updated since May of this year and there have been a plethora of features added since then. A quick example would be if I run a search for "Sustain Point", nothing comes up.

I know you all out at Firelight are remarkably busy with feature requests and bugs, but having updated documentation so we all don’t have to constantly scour the forums for issues/problems would be a very good thing.

Don’t get me wrong, the forums are fantastic and there is a veritable ton of information lurking in here…but sometimes there are questions about functionality, features, and/or limitations that are already in place but are either mentioned in passing or not touched on at all within the manual….and with all of us spread across the globe the turnaround of answers can be several hours to days…which in our industry can mean disaster. Having a constantly up-to-date user manual would be remarkably beneficial and could help reduce the number of posts that you all would have to respond to (and would probably keep you from having to revisit issues that have been addressed in previous threads).

I, for one, would be willing to help in any capacity that I can, if you need it and I’d imagine other people in our community of users would be willing to step up and "join the cause".

I think this would be a very, very good thing…and could seep into the API side of things as well.

Thoughts?

We’ve just hired a full time technical writer so the docs will be updated fully soon, they are something that has always lagged behind.
