hello folks… :)
I want to play sound from a resource file using VB and buffer.
I popolated buffer using following command:

Buffer = LoadResData("Song", "Resource")

And then?? Wittch is the correct API?? And how can I implement it??

I can extract to file using following commands:

Open "music.xm" For Binary Access Write As #FileRes
Put #FileRes, , Buffer
Close #FileRes

And then play it without problem, but my goal was play music directly from memory. Is it possible???

Thanks!

Look at the functions FindResource, LoadResource, LockResource, SizeofResource… These are the C API functions to use a resource, but I think that the same functions exist in VB.

LoadResData is fine, loads the resource in memory (Buffer should be a Byte array here)
Now just look for an example to play sounds from memory…
Don’t know if you also can use tracker/midi (e.g. your xm) from memory, too… so fmod will load an external file into memory itself?
