It’s not my code. I’ve downloaded several programs that play mods using fmod and none of them will work. It probably has something to do with my computer. I just want to know if anyone knows if this is common, whats the problem, how to fix it, et cetera.

Thank you for your time.

  1. you’re in the wrong forum
  2. you didnt say fmod3 or fmod ex.
  3. FMOD plays .mod/.s3m/.xm/.it fine and doesnt need anything special to play them. If you are talking about 15inst mods fmod doesnt support those but they are a very old obsolete format.

Well I posted here because I tried to do the code myself to see if it would work and it still didn’t. I thought this was the dev forum. Anyways, its fmod3(.7.5.0), sorry about that. And it won’t play .mod/.s3m/.xm/.it. For some reason, my code, examples, and other programs will not play mods on my computer. Hopefully someone can help me out. I’ve been trying to figure this out for about 2 weeks now and have had no luck.

Thank you for your time.

What do you mean it doesnt work? Does it return an error from FMUSIC_LoadSong? mods have nothing to do with your computer in whether they will play or not, they are all software mixed and it is the same on every machine. You are probably just using the wrong function. I assume you have played the ‘simple’ example which plays an s3m file? There’s also the possibility you are just not getting any sound out, ie with a .wav file, then yes your driver is probably broken.

It plays mp3/ogg/wav et cetera fine. And FMUSIC_LoadSong() is not returning an error. FMUSIC_GetRow()/ FMUSIC_GetSpeed()/ FMUSIC_GetTime()/ et cetera will all return what I’d expect them to return also. I’m pretty sure everything is working, besides the actual sound on my computer.

Yes I used the simple example. I also used tried writing my own code to do it. I also tried using a couple other programs that use FMOD and none of them worked (when playing mods). I’m not really sure what you mean by voices. I’m pretty sure you’re on the right track with something being wrong with my driver. But I’ve been searching and havn’t found anything about fixing it. Do you have any ideas?

Thank you for your time.

Can you try same mod files with the fmod [3] player?
If thay cannot be played with fmod player, you may try load & save with Modplug tracker / Open Modplug tracker.

If it still doesn’t work, have you tested these files with other players, and can you provide a download link for?
