I would like to use the C++ interface of FMOD Ex, but as I have come to understand this is not possible for non MS compilers.

My questions are:
Has anyone written an own simple C++-wrapper for the C API that I might use?
Is the FMOD team planning to distribute versions of the lib that is built with a few of the other big compilers except for MSVS, for instance gcc?

Best regards,
Ymer

Most commercial developers use microsoft/intel compilers on win32, so we havent seen any real demand for us to compile fmod on other compilers yet. Especially when the very simple solution of just using fmod.h instead can be used, with the existing provided import libraries.

Can I then use the C++ interface with gcc? Can you explain how to do this or redirect me to any documentation.

I pretty much inferred no, you have to use fmod.h, which is the C header.
