Will say that using Fmod for the first time is a dream, very well layed out and a very nice and simpel API

I am currently working on streaming audio data out of a IStream/IStorage container and am having a ‘unknown file format’ error when trying to play a WMA file. I can play/stream WAV and MP3’s correctly (so I am assuming my file access callbacks are working correctly) but it fails during WMA FSOUND_Stream_OpenFile(). I traced the open, seek and read commands and it seems to be doing it’s usual bit at the beginning to analise the file and reads in the first bits of it..

If I used the fopen() commands (instead of a stream) to read the same .wma from disk then it works no problems at all..

Any ideas?

Thanks

thanks for that Brett.. I did work out that it would play if it was the last thing imported into the istream (ie the current directory was where the file was). I guess it through me off a bit as it seemed to use the file wrappers but from what you say, it’s more Fmod checking the module before passing it onto the wma player

with midi I was planning on loading them into ram from the steam as midi’s are generally small enough to do that (like most wav files)

thanks for your answers..
