Hello everybody,

I’m a beginner with FSOUND. I already made a mp3-player with Fsound and it works fine.

But recently I downloaded a beatdetector library (.dll) for Fsound and now I want to detect the beats for a mp3-file playing in the background, so the user can’t hear the song playing, but in fact it does play but in the background to detect the beats.

I tried this with fsound_nonblocking but it seems that this is not the correct method. If fsound_nonblocking IS the correct way, then I’m doing something wrong i guess. Can someone please show some visual basic code here, to show how to do this? I would be very gratefull 😆

Thanks in advance,
Martin

nobody? :roll:

I tried the code below but i still can hear the file playing (it doesn’t play in the background):

[size=75:3k9fcqse]stream = FSOUND_Stream_Open(FileName, FSOUND_NONBLOCKING, 0, 0)
Channel = -1
Do While Channel < 0 And FSOUND_Stream_GetOpenState(stream) < 0
Channel = FSOUND_Stream_Play(fsound_free, stream)
Loop[/size:3k9fcqse]

I think you mean nosound output, not ‘background’ and nonblocking has nothing to do with it.

Try FSOUND_SetOutput instead.
